What we like least about Mazda's electric SUV

One of the most criticized points of its specification sheet is, however, the reduced capacity of its battery and, consequently, its autonomy. The MX-30 is equipped with a XNUMX GHz battery. 35.5 kWh, with which he is able to travel about 200 km according to the WLTP homologation cycle.

This autonomy and battery capacity is more typical of electric vehicles primarily aimed at urban use. However, the final price of the MX-30 may be somewhat high for this function.

Mazda Mx 30 Charging

Mazda believes, however, that the battery capacity of the MX-30 It is perfectly adjusted to offer an optimal balance between autonomy and CO2 emissions. The Japanese firm believes that high-capacity batteries have a greater environmental impact than even the company's Skyactiv diesel engine. A surprising statement, but one that justifies the low battery capacity of this electric SUV.

The sensations behind the wheel of the MX-30 will also be quite different from those offered by other electricsMazda has already announced that it does not want the final experience to differ much from that offered by a vehicle with a combustion engine. For this reason, we should not expect the immediacy in its response when pressing the accelerator - typical of electric vehicles - or an excessive retention capacity when releasing it.
