The Polestar 3 will arrive in Europe at the end of 2023 from 89.900 euros
As planned, the Swedish manufacturer has just officially presented its new electric SUV, the polestar 3The brand's first model with an electric propulsion system, designed from the beginning to be a Polestar, since the Polestar 2 was initially going to be part of the Volvo range.
Polestar claims its new SUV combines Scandinavian purity and minimalism with the ingredients of a Sport Utility Vehicle, making it the perfect SUV for the new electric era.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the dual electric motor version available at market launch offers a combined power of 360 kW with a torque of 840 Nm. If you also choose to add the package Performance , so Power rises to 380 kW with 840 Nm of torque.
Contrary to previous speculation, Polestar has not integrated the two electric motors into the rear axle, but has instead distributed them, one on each axle. Despite this, the Swedish manufacturer claims that The Polestar 3 will feature torque vectoring on the rear axle, thanks to a double-clutch function borrowed from the Polestar 1. This makes it possible to transfer the appropriate power to both the inside wheel of the curve and the outside wheel.
Premium autonomy for a Premium vehicle
The Polestar 3's battery pack capacity is considerably higher than that offered by many of its rivals, with a whopping 111 kWh. Although the Swedish manufacturer has not specified what net capacity is available to the driver, it has assured that the Polestar 3's range will be above 600 km on a single charge. Specifically, under the WLTP homologation cycle, Polestar expects it to reach around 610 km. Although for the moment this data is an estimate and we will have to wait for the official figure.
Polestar has confirmed that there will also be a version with standard range and a battery pack with a lower capacity. However, no further information has been provided for the moment. It is also not known whether this version with standard range will have one or two electric motors.

Additionally, the Swedish manufacturer has explained that the aluminum frame that makes up the battery pack of this version of the Polestar 3 integrates 204 prismatic cells grouped into 17 modules in totalThe company has not revealed the supplier of these cells, but Polestar has worked with CATL and LGES in the past, so it would be normal for it to be one of these two suppliers, or even both.
As expected in an electric vehicle of this level, the battery pack will be liquid-cooled and the cabin climate will be controlled by a heat pump, available as standard to improve efficiency. When recharging the battery, the Polestar 3 will support a maximum power of 250 kW in direct current and 11 kW in alternating current. This means that a nearly complete recharge at an ultra-fast charging point should not take more than half an hour.
Polestar to launch its new electric SUV globally
The Polestar 3 will initially be available simultaneously in the European, North American and Chinese markets. In Europe, the price of the new electric SUV from the Swedish manufacturer will start at 89.900 euros. The pack Performance will cost an additional 6 thousand euros.
