Audi Charging: the German firm's new charging service
The four rings firm has just presented Audi Charging, the new recharge service for its customers that comes to replace the current one e-tron ChargingInitially available in 27 countries, this new service will go into operation in the new year, starting on January 1st.
Audi Charging will allow access to More than 400 thousand charging points from more than 800 operators, among which is also found IONITYAn important point to clarify is that this new service is not only a change of commercial name, but also of the provider on which it is based.

The e-tron Charging service was launched in 2019 in cooperation with Digital Charging Solutionsa whirlpool bath, a joint venture created between BMW, Daimler and BP. In contrast, the fundamental pillar of Audi Charging is Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH and its Elli brand, which was later founded with the mission of offering a charging service to the group's various brands. These include Volkswagen itself, Skoda, SEAT/Cupra and, from 2023, Audi.
But how much will it cost me?
As far as tariffs are concerned, with Audi Charging, customers of the firm with the four rings will be able to choose between three different ones: Basic, Plus and ProPrices will vary depending on the country, but to get an idea we can take the German market as a reference.
In this Central European country, The basic rate has no monthly fee and allows charging with alternating current for 0.60 euros per kWh and for 0.80 euros per kWh when using a fast charging point with direct current. There are, however, a couple of exceptions, the IONITY charging points and the Audi Charging Hubs. In the former the cost per kWh will be 0.79 euros, while in the latter it will be only 0.45 euros/kWh.
The Plus rate, which requires payment of a monthly fee of 7.99 euros, will allow for more competitive prices per kWh. For alternating current, the price will be 0.50 euros/kWh, while for direct current, the price will be 0.64 euros/kWh. Likewise, recharging on the IONITY network will cost 0.79 euros/kWh and at the Audi Charging Hubs 0.35 euros/kWh.

Finally, the Pro rate involves paying a monthly fee of 14.99 eurosWith this rate, the cost of charging with alternating current will be 0.45 euros/kWh and with direct current 0.58 euros/kWh. Using the IONITY charging point network will be much cheaper, at 0.35 euros/kWh, the same price that will have to be paid at the Audi Charging Hubs.
The Pro rate with no monthly fee for the first year
With the purchase of any Audi electric vehicle, the German manufacturer will offer the Pro rate for one year without having to pay the monthly fee. This represents a saving of 179.88 euros. After the first year, the customer will have to decide which of these three available rates best suits their needs.
