Audi will present a futuristic 4×4 prototype this coming September

The four-ring firm has announced the presentation of several prototypes with electric propulsion systems, including a radical 4×4

If you like cars, and you are especially interested in electric mobility, This coming September you will have fun.

We will start the month with a strong dish: The official presentation of the Porsche Taycan. An event that you can follow live via streaming on September 4th at 15pm (Spanish time). You can find the video of the live broadcast at the end of this post We published a few days ago.

But there are still many more surprises in store for us. The Frankfurt Motor Show will take place from September 12 to September 22, and we have just learned that Audi will use this event to present several prototypes with electric propulsion systems.

This is how Audi sees the future of 4×4 vehicles

To whet your appetite, the German firm has revealed a striking image of one of these new prototypes. It is a 4×4 vehicle with a surprisingly radical design, which has left us eagerly awaiting the day of its presentation.

The four-ring firm has not given any further details about this new model for the moment, but has attached the following note:

«At the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2019 we will be showing a new electric 4×4 prototype designed for the mobility of the future. Don't miss everything we have to show you, including the Audi AICON that was already presented during last year's event.. "

There is no doubt that this will be the case. We will be keeping a close eye on everything that is presented there and, as always, we will tell you about it here on DrivingEco.

Will Audi take this prototype to production?

If this image had been published by any other car manufacturer, our first impression would be that it is one of many futuristic prototypes that are only designed with the intention of attracting the public's attention at some major event, such as the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

However, when it comes to Audi, Experience tells us that a similar model could reach production in not too long. The German firm has a habit of developing new prototypes, not only to create expectations and brand image, but to show what the future holds for us.

The current Audi e-tron is based on the etron quattro also presented in Frankfurt in 2015. The etron GT se he presented last November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and is scheduled to go into production in late 2020. As will happen with the PB18 e-tron Concept, which most likely will serve as inspiration for the upcoming replacement for the Audi R8.

At the moment we don't really know if Audi will bring this 4×4 prototype to production or not, but we shouldn't rule it outIn any case, we will surely learn more details during its presentation in a few days.
