Audi Urbansphere: an urban prototype packed with technology

The German manufacturer has just presented the third prototype of the family "Sphere«, a set of design studies created to show the world what the company's vision is for the future of electric mobility. Developed specifically to navigate the traffic of the world's major metropolises, the Urbansphere prototype stands out for being the vehicle with the largest interior space ever sporting the four rings logo.

We are thus faced with a minivan with outrageous dimensions, measuring 5.51 metres long, 2.01 metres wide and 1.78 metres high. But what is even more striking is its wheelbase, which is over three metres long (3.40 metres).

Habitability has been the primary objective for the designers of this prototype and, for this reason, despite its exaggerated dimensions It only has seating for four people.Organized in two rows, the lucky passengers of the Audi Urbansphere also have an arsenal of technology at their disposal to make their journeys much more bearable.

Better than being in your own home

Audi has integrated individual monitors for the rear seats in the back area of the front seats, virtual reality glasses, an OLED screen that unfolds from the ceiling –in the style of the one that equips the new BMW i7-, and even a water dispenser so that passengers travel well hydrated.

The Audi Urbansphere can be considered, in short, as a living room on wheels or even a mobile office, which allows you to make the most of all the time you spend daily on urban trips. An experience that is further enhanced by its level 4 autonomous driving capabilities, which allow you to hide the pedals and steering wheel during these trips. The German manufacturer describes this new prototype as "an interactive mobile space that provides access to a much broader digital ecosystem«.
