One million kilometers traveled in his Tesla Model S P85+
The experience of the owner of a Tesla Model S, with which he has traveled more than a million kilometers, leaves us with some interesting data
Hansjörg Eberhard von Gemmingen is a German citizen who has just entered the Guinness Book of Records. And he has not done so for being the one who can eat the most hot dogs in 2 minutes, his achievement is also thanks to his Tesla Model S P85+, with which he has already traveled more than a million kilometers.
Hansjörg bought this second-hand Model S in 2014 with 30 thousand kilometers and, since then, has not stopped for a moment from one place to another. The vehicle is already in use its fourth electric motor, although he claims that the current engine has already traveled 680 thousand kilometers and has not given him any problems. Further proof of how Tesla has improved the reliability of its engines over the years.

The engine is not, however, the only element of the vehicle that has been changed. He is currently using his third battery pack. The first of them claims that he started having problems after 290 kilometers, which is not bad at all. He complains, however, that Tesla needed 6 months to carry out the replacement, and during that time he had to use a borrowed battery pack with which he claims to have traveled 150 kilometers.
Electric motors and batteries are becoming more durable
The number of kilometers traveled with this latest battery pack is also a sign that Tesla has not only managed to manufacture more durable electric motors for its vehicles, but Improvements in the company's battery technology have occurred in parallel.
It is not surprising that Tesla itself has admitted to working on new batteries with which It would be possible to travel more than one and a half million kilometers. Which, combined with similar improvements in the engines, would leave the competition out of the game in terms of reliability.

Back to Hansjörg's Tesla Model S P85+, the million kilometers traveled does not seem to be enough for him. The next challenge for this restless German is to reach the million miles (1.6 million kilometers) and, if possible, then go for 2 million kilometers, why not?
The curious thing about this story is that Hansjörg also has a Roadster, with which he has already traveled 633,599 km.Which makes us wonder if this man ever sits still without moving back and forth in one of his Teslas.
Hansjörg's recommendations after driving more than a million kilometers with his Tesla
Hansjörg's long experience on the road with Tesla vehicles has allowed him to learn a few tricks to prolong the life of his vehicles. He recommends that whenever possible, better to recharge at home at low power, using Superchargers only when absolutely necessary for long journeys. And as for the battery charge percentage, never let it discharge completely and do not recharge it until it reaches 100 percent.
