The Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e will also see their autonomy increased in 2022

Just a few days ago Stellantis announced the introduction of a series of improvements to the Peugeot e-208 and e-2008 that would, as a consequence, an increase in the autonomy of both models. Shortly after we learned that the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense will also increase its autonomy for this same reason, but it seems that things will not end here.

Stellantis announced today an increase in the autonomy of Opel's electric models. This is the \ It \ him Corsa-e and the Mocha-e.

According to the company, with these improvements the Corsa-e will be able to travel up to 359 km on a single charge; while the autonomy of the Mokka-e will reach the 339 km. As with the Peugeot and DS models, this will mean an increase in autonomy of around 7 percent compared to current models. However, as Stellantis pointed out a few days ago in relation to the Peugeot e-208 and e-2008, this increase in autonomy will be even more noticeable in urban use.

A formula that we already know

The improvements that Opel will introduce in the Corsa-e and Mokka-e go in the same direction as those we already saw in Peugeot's electric cars. The Corsa-e will mount New, more efficient class A+ tires, using the same 16-inch wheels. The same will happen with the Mokka-e, although in this case with 17-inch wheels. Likewise, Opel will also modify the transmission ratio to give a new twist to the efficiency of both models.

As with the Peugeot e-208 and e-2008, Stellantis is confident that the greatest gain in efficiency will, however, be achieved through the integration of A new heat pump complemented by a new humidity sensor installed in the upper part of the windscreen. The vehicle's updated software will use the data provided by this sensor to more efficiently control the air conditioning system, significantly reducing energy consumption.

Stellantis has not announced, for the moment, the introduction of similar improvements that increase the autonomy of another of the group's electric vehicles, the Citroen ë-C4. Although this is something we shouldn't rule out, considering that this model also uses the e-CMP platform. We'll be keeping an eye out for any comments from the company on the matter.
