Polestar also supports the NACS standard in North America

It was just a couple of days ago when Volvo confirmed its support for the NACS standard in North America And, at that time, we already told you that after that news, Polestar could not take long to follow in the same footsteps.

Said and done. Through a press release, Volvo's little sister has just announced that from 2025 the Swedish brand's vehicles sold in the United States and Canada will be They will integrate a NACS charging port as standard, instead of the usual CCS1, in order to take greater advantage of Tesla's extensive network of Superchargers. The company has added, however, that with these vehicles with NACS charging ports, it will also provide an adapter so that charging can continue at CCS1 charging points as before.

Likewise, just as other manufacturers that have already announced their support for the NACS standard will do, starting in 2024 Polestar will supply all owners of one of its vehicles with a CCS1 to NACS adapter. This will allow them to access Tesla's charging infrastructure, despite having a vehicle with a charging connector different from that used by the American firm's Superchargers.

Who will be next?

Polestar believes that this decision will be very beneficial for its North American customers, and they also wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the exceptional work that Tesla has done with the creation of its Supercharger network. A charging infrastructure that, they say, is serving to give a strong boost to the popularity of electric vehiclesWith more than 12 charging points currently in operation and continuing to expand, Polestar noted that Tesla's Supercharger network is enabling strong growth in the rate of electric vehicle adoption in North America.
