Rimac is working against the clock on the final version of its hypercar

Croatian manufacturer Rimac Automobili is resuming its roadmap and is already working on the units required to pass crash tests and guarantee the required safety to homologate the units that will lead to the production vehicle from the Rimac C_Two prototype.

Resuming the third year of a four-year work plan in 2017, from the project's presentation to the delivery of production cars, at its Veliko Trgoviše facilities, the team of workers led by Mate Rimac, founder, owner and head of the brand that bears Mate's surname, resumes activity after experiencing the worst days against Covid-19 and is working hard to assemble the necessary units that will be used to carry out the tests in the crash tests and that, finally, will allow the homologation for sale of the car.

In an estimated 5 weeks, the prototypes will be ready to be evaluated and, some of them, literally destroyed in order to verify the safety levels that the final version of the Rimac C_Two would offer to its occupants and to those who, in its vicinity, were involved in an accident.

Be that as it may, after the construction of these doomed units and the completion of the relevant tests, the Rimac team faces the challenge of starting the manufacture of the first ordered cars and making them available to their owners in 2021 , shortly before the final version, as well as the name of the car, are officially revealed.

This indicates that, as expected, Rimac's production electric hypercar will be delayed so that it will make its debut at the end of 2020 and be delivered to its buyers a few months later, a delay from the initial plan.

Be that as it may, it is possible that the final version derived from the Rimac C_Two will maintain its commitment to producing around 2.000 hp from a propulsion and electric energy storage system that, according to its measurements, has been able to reach 412 kilometers per hour and, even more brutally, launch from a standstill to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds; to be precise, according to the manufacturer, it stopped the clock at 1,9 seconds.
