The new Seat Tarraco FR PHEV will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show

The plug-in hybrid Seat Tarraco is shown with sporty equipment thanks to the FR finish

Just because it is expected and known, the confirmation of the arrival of the New Seat Tarraco PHEV, the plug-in hybrid version of Seat's SUV with up to seven seats.

The electrified variant of the brand new SUV for up to seven people takes the reins of the electrification of existing models and assumes its position as the flagship of the brand or, at least, of the Catalan firm's SUVs.

For this reason, the new Seat Tarraco FR PHEV will use a mechanism based on the well-known 1.4 hp 150 TSI petrol block associated with an 85 kW (116 hp) electric motor that will obtain electrical energy from lithium-ion batteries with a storage capacity of 13 kWh.

With all this, we are talking about amounts for the Seat Tarraco FR plug-in hybrid with a total of 240 hp of power, 400 Nm of torque, a maximum acceleration of 217 km/h, a sprint from 0 to 100 in 7,4 seconds and a range in fully electric mode of up to 50 km where CO2 emissions are set at less than 50 grams per kilometer traveled.

An electric mode that can be activated on demand, thus making this car a zero-emission vehicle during the disconnection of the combustion engine, which, together with the approved autonomy, allows it to obtain the ZERO label from the DGT.

The formula for success

Although for years the initials FR have been little more than another aesthetic finish For Seat models, it is true that the sporty contribution that these aesthetic packages add makes the cars that equip them gain points.

Be that as it may, the Seat Tarraco FR PHEV presented in the photographs and which will be present at the next Frankfurt, to be held between 12 and 22 September, will showcase the distinctive elements of the sportiest package.

Thus, with a body colour similar to Cupra's own tones, it appears in the colour palette as Fura Grey, matching the black of the 19- and, optionally, 20-inch wheels, inserted into wheel arches widened for this case.

At the rear, a bumper that focuses the gaze on the middle area, corresponding to the light band that unites both rear light clusters, and the two lower exhaust pipes, receive the exotic touch with calligraphy used to write the name Tarraco.

Regarding the interior of this show vehicle, includes electrically adjustable bucket-type sports seats. Other elements that recall the vehicle in question are the aluminium pedals and the sports steering wheel that proudly displays the letters FR.

As is necessary, the infotainment system It is dominated by a 23,4 cm screen whose aim is both to improve the quality of the experience in its use and to optimise the information provided through this same screen.
