Skoda Octavia RS iV: the first plug-in hybrid with the initials "RS"
The Skoda Octavia RS iV is set to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be the brand's first model to sport the RS initials and will have the DGT's ZERO label.
It was an open secret: the fourth generation of the Skoda Octavia It was announced with a plug-in hybrid variant, the Skoda Octavia iV. And many began to dream of a RS version.
It should be noted that it is now 20 years since the first Skoda Octavia RS was launched. And in Skoda's main European markets, namely Germany, the UK and Switzerland, these sporty versions are highly appreciated: one in five Skoda Octavias sold in these countries is an RS.

Now, Skoda confirms that we will see the RS variant of its Skoda Octavia iV at the Geneva Motor Show. A brilliant way to celebrate a 20th birthday.
Family, sporty and with ZERO label
For now we are only allowed to see these sketches, which anticipate a more aggressive line than what Skoda has accustomed us to until now. The Octavia RS iV will be offered in saloon and estate body variants, with its own distinctive features such as the black grille, the large air intakes and the sporty skirt, the rear spoiler and the specifically designed wheels.

As for the propulsion system, the 204 hp of the Octavia iV become 245 hp in the RS version, the only figure that Skoda reveals at the moment. It should be noted that in the case of the iV variant, the plug-in hybrid system uses a 1,4-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a DSG gearbox, and that the 13 kWh battery allows to announce up to 55 km of autonomy in electric mode, according to the WLTP cycle.
It is normal to expect that the Octavia RS iV will also exceed the 40 km of electric autonomy necessary so that, in its condition as a plug-in hybrid, it can show off the DGT ZERO label. He would be the first to do so… and he probably won’t be the last.
