The electric SsangYong Torres will arrive in Europe in 2023
SsangYong will have a new electric member in its range in 2023. It will be called ssangyong towers and will complete the brand's offering. This new electric model will be located between the SsangYong Korando and the SsangYong RextonCurrently, it is called the U100 internally and could be the same size as the Skoda Enyaq, although being signed by SsangYong, we hope it will have a more off-road aesthetic.
The future SsangYong Torres will compete with models such as the Subaru Single and the toyota bz4xIts design has already been fully revealed, but we don't know if the all-electric version will have changes typically associated with electric vehicles, or if the vehicle shown in press material is actually the all-electric version.
Everything we know about the new SsangYong Torres

If we pay attention to the images published by the brand, the grille seems to be completely faired, but a large air intake can be seen at the bottom. We assume that it will be developed on the SsangYong Korando platform. In addition, it could also share the SsangYong Korando's electric powertrain. 188 CV and its battery, which allows it to travel a range of 322 kilometers on a single charge.
For the moment, the brand has not said much about the new electric vehicle, only stating that "with the Torres we fill the gap between the midsize SUVs "such as the Korando and larger models in the D/E segment such as the Rexton. With this step, we are creating an additional market segment that opens up new growth opportunities for us, especially if we successively develop the product range."
