Tesla Model 3 has already achieved almost 14000 orders in Europe according to an unofficial report

The order figure in Europe was obtained by a group of Model 3 reservists by gathering information from emails received

It's been exactly a month now since Tesla opened the Model 3 configurator so that those who already had a reservation could, after many months of waiting, place the first firm orders for their new vehicle. Tesla then assured that all orders placed in Europe before the end of the year (2018) They would be delivered during the first half of 2019, with the first deliveries taking place at the end of February or beginning of March.

Over the past month, since the configurator finally opened, we can assume that Tesla has received thousands of orders across Europe; but these are just assumptions. Unfortunately, the American firm has not revealed specific figures that allow us to get an idea of the evolution of Model 3 sales in Europe.

This is what has led a group of Model 3 reservists to organize to obtain an estimate of this figure through an ingenious system that we detail below. The data collected by these users suggests that The number of orders for the Tesla Model 3 in Europe is currently approaching 14000.

Adding receipt information for each order

This figure has been obtained because in Europe, unlike what happens in the United States and Canada, Each order is identified with a sequential number for each countryThus, it is enough to know a recent order number to know how many have been made up to that moment in a specific country.

This group of Model 3 reservists has even created a spreadsheet in which they update the data they collect. At the moment they have information on 500 orders placed throughout Europe, which has allowed them to estimate that The total number of these orders currently amounts to 13773.

Norway leads the ranking of orders in Europe

Even more interesting is to look at the data by country. As we can see in the spreadsheet, Norway is, as expected, the European country with the highest number of orders placed during the last month. The 4493 orders that were reportedly placed in the Nordic country represent almost a third of the orders placed throughout Europe..

Just behind Norway would be Germany, with just over half. 2332 orders carried out in the Teutonic country represent a 17 percent of total European orders. Switzerland, the Netherlands and France complete the Top 5 countries with the highest volume of Model 3 orders during this last month, just over a thousand.

And in Spain?

At this point you are probably wondering what is happening in Spain. The data referring to the number of orders in our country has been obtained thanks to the information provided by 22 reservists. The last reference is from December 29 and suggests that The total number of orders at that date was 447Spain is now in tenth position, just ahead of Italy, with 3 percent of all orders placed in Europe.

As we already mentioned a few weeks ago, Tesla has chosen the Belgian port of Zeebrugge as the destination for the ships loaded with new Model 3s for the European market that will leave its production plant in California. International Car Operators (ICO), a company specialized in the unloading and storage of goods that works in this Belgian port, expects to receive 3000 Model 3 units per week.

These nearly 14000 orders placed in Europe during this last month would therefore cover the Model 3 shipments made for more than 4 weeks.
