Toyota cuts price of bZ4X in Chinese market
Just four months after the start of marketing of the bZ4X in China, the Japanese manufacturer has announced a significant reduction in the sales price of this model in this market. A business decision that appears to be Toyota's response to Tesla's recent announcement to lower the price of its vehicles, forcing its rivals to react.
According to GAC Toyota, all customers who decide to purchase a unit of the bZ4X electric SUV in the Chinese market from now on will benefit from a discount of 30 thousand yuan, which at the exchange rate comes to about 4.100 euros. The base price of this model has thus been reduced from 199.800 yuan to 169.800 yuan. In euros, this is equivalent to a price reduction of around 27.300 euros to 23.200.

Some Chinese media, however, claim that this price reduction It is really a temporary offer, and it is unknown how long it will last. That is why those customers who may be interested should not miss out on this opportunity.
Will something similar happen in Europe?
At the moment, it is also unknown whether Toyota will extend this decision to other markets such as Europe, thus following the path marked by Tesla, which first announced a price cut for its vehicles in the Chinese market. and subsequently at a global level.
The Japanese manufacturer is not the only manufacturer that has reacted to Tesla's price cuts on its vehicles. Ford recently announced a price cut for the Mustang Mach-E in the North American market. A decision that It did not, however, extend to the European market., where the American manufacturer does not seem to have any intention of cutting prices.

Toyota sells two versions of the bZ4X in Europe: one with a single 150 kW electric motor located on the front axle, which promises 516 km of WLTP autonomy; and another with a double electric motor, all-wheel drive and 160 kW of combined power, capable of travelling 470 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle. Both versions, however, are equipped with the same 71.4 kWh capacity battery pack.
