Zeekr X: the new premium urban SUV from the Chinese manufacturer

Zeekr, the premium brand of the Geely Group created to compete head-to-head with Tesla, has just presented the third model of its new range of electric vehicles. This is the Zeekr X, a vehicle almost four and a half meters long (4.450 mm), which the manufacturer itself defines as a premium urban SUV.

The Zeekr X is full of surprises, and the first of all is its name, since everything pointed to the Chinese manufacturer opting for the name 003 simply because it was the third model in its range. Instead, they explain, they have preferred to choose the letter X, which happens to be the third letter of the alphabet if we start from the end.

Designed by a team led by Stefan Sielaff at Zeekr's Global Design Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, the first thing that catches your eye about the Zeekr X is its modern and different appearance. This is helped by a number of details such as the door handles and the frameless rear-view mirrors.

Band of Brothers

Based on the SEA platform (Sustainable Experience Architecture) of the Geely group, this is the same one used by the Smart # 1It should come as no surprise, then, that they share the same wheelbase; although the Zeekr X is 180 mm longer, 64 mm lower and slightly wider.

The front of the vehicle leaves no one indifferent, with an aggressive design that includes headlights that give it a great personality. While the rear is somewhat more conventional, but also interesting. The spoiler that extends from the roof, and the rear lighting line interrupted only to integrate the name of the manufacturer, are its most notable elements.

As far as its technical specifications are concerned, the Chinese manufacturer has preferred not to give many details at the moment, probably leaving it for a later date in order to keep the interest in this new model alive. However, Zeekr has promised that its new urban premium SUV will offer an outstanding driving experience, and has revealed as proof that It will be able to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just four seconds..

The company says the Zeekr X will arrive at dealerships in the Chinese market early in the second quarter of this year. It will then make its debut in Europe, where it will be the first model available from the brand.
